Shower drain Wiper 1100 mm Premium Ponente is the most popular linear drainage type. This drain is 1100 mm long, which is the second largest rectangle unit in our offer. It is made of 304 stainless steel which offers good corrosion resistance to both chemical and atmospheric exposures, with a high resistance to oxidation. It is surrounded by 30 mm wide steel flange and sealing membrane which are very useful especially in timber floors, although drain is also suitable for concrete flooring. This is perfect gully for tiled floors, as the lip height is 15 mm.

Premium drain channel is 84 mm wide, while it comes with included Ponente plain stainless steel pattern without any holes, solid bar of brushed steel which is 64 mm wide, grate is 1104 mm long and total drain length with insulation flange is 1160mm. Sealing membrane is a blue non-woven fabric which bonds well in the glue and is resistant to cracking.

Convenient siphon trap with 26 l /min draining speed and 20 mm tall water seal is the last element always included to every drain. Made of PVC is very flexible as it can be rotated and pipe's height can be adjusted, making installation easier. It is McAlpine product so should be suitable for any wet room pipework. It can be opened even after installation is over for easy cleaning.

Drain is available in 8 standard lengths. Although they have same technical performance, length of the drain should be matched room requirements. For an instance 700 mm Drain length is recommended for 1000 mm wide shower.

There are 6 drain cover patterns available. The flow rate is the same for all of them. They are interchangeable and can be swapped even after installation. Each drain sent out is equipped with a lifting hook which makes cleaning easy.

Waterproofing kit

Waterproofing kit is used to seal shower tray as well as connections between walls and floor. It is recommended for concrete and mandatory for timber flooring. As a standard to every order we include a compression fitting McAlpine waste trap with 26 l/min throughput, 20 mm water seal and 1.5 inch pipe diameter. Requires only 65 mm of space underneath the drain. Fully rotatable and adjustable.

If our default waste trap does not fulfil your requirements, we have various other waste traps available which are compatible with our products. We can supply them at the same cost and speed as the default trap. Drop 50 is an interesting choice, with a 48 l/min flow rate and 50 mm deep water seal, making it compliant with building regulations, whilst being only 10 mm higher than a standard trap. Suitable for wet areas such as bathrooms, showers in residential buildings, hotels, old people's homes and hospitals. Should not be used in places exposed to pressurised water, for an instance swimming pools. Ready to use, no mixing required and easy to apply with a roller. The kit includes a high performance joint reinforcing tape to protect against movement in floor joins and corners etc. The contents are all INSIDE the bucket and the contents are protected in the bucket with polystyrene infill's to stop transit damage.The instructions are printed on the rear of the tanking kit.

When applied to a substrate and cured, it forms a flexible waterproofing coating. The product is intended for use inside places intended for human residence, especially in humid areas (such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundries), to perform insulation against moisture under linings and coverings, such as ceramic tiles, glazed tiles, terracotta, wooden floors and panels, and synthetic carpets.

The product is intended for priming absorbent and porous surfaces, inside and outside buildings. It is especially recommended for cement - limestone plaster, gas concrete, plaster-carton boards and cement plaster. The primer has a high penetration ability, is deeply absorbed into the substrate, thus strengthening it, while allowing for „breathing”. These benefits improve the structure of the substrates, which, due to the passage of time, have lost their appropriate parameters. The priming solution improves adhesion to the surface of other materials that will be used on the primed substrate. By reducing the absorbency of the substrate, the wear of the applied coating materials, emulsion paints, glues, mineral putties reduces as well. The solution, due to the content of the biocide and fungicide, protects the primed substrate against the formation of mold and bacteria in the product.

ISOL-ONE Sealing collar
The ISOL-ONE sealing mat is made from a polyethylene film coated with a special non-woven fabric on both sides, so that it bonds with the glue layer. Its installation is recommended in all areas that require sealing. The mat is resistant to the cracking of the substrate, ensures the seal up of the entire surface, reduces installation time, allowing to lay the tiles immediately after gluing the mat.

Adjustable feet are two small metal parts that can be connected to each channel end. They allow you to precisely set the unit height and level. Thanks to the red caps you can anchor the drain to the floor. They are part of unit, included in price and always added to each drain.

Linear drains fitting instructions

Please read the instructions carefully before installation.

  1. Set the level of the finished shower floor surface and mark it on the wall in the area where the channel will be fitted (allow for the slope of the shower surface).
  2. Connect the channel to the drainage system and set the height using the adjustable legs (optional additional payment) so that the upper edge of the frame is approximately 1mm below the finished surface level of the shower.
  3. Fill the space under and around the channel with screed or a similar product to the level of the flange.
  4. Cover the flange and the surrounding area with an insulating foil in a liquid form.
  5. Apply the sealing membrane in position on the freshly applied liquid foil.
  6. Apply a second coat of the liquid foil to the whole surface of the shower area and the sealing membrane.
  7. Once the liquid foil is completely dry as per the manufacturer's instructions, the shower can be tiled (eg ceramic tiles or granite). Seal the gap between the tiles and the channel frame with flexible sanitary silicone compatible with the tile and grout colour.
  • The diagram shows various parts of the channel and their dimensions can be found on the More info tab.
  • We recommend that you do not remove the protective foil from the grating until the installation is complete
  • The instructions refer to the correct installation of the channel only and do not include information regarding insulation or other elements of the shower cabin such as sealing connections between the shower walls and floor as well as water proofing.
  • The channel should be installed together with the siphon trap and then the adjustable legs should be glued in the places shown.

warranty?
I've ordered linear drain premium 1100 mm length with a 'Ponente' grating. So it is a all stainless steel cover with no holes. The surface is well 'polished'(brush finish actually) it looks well in a modern bathroom. Delivery with TNT went ok. But the manufacturer should give a lifetime warranty not just ten years.
