Why Vinyl Flooring for a Wet Room?

Vinyl flooring is great for wet rooms, it’s durable, water resistant and looks good. It’s a seamless wet room floor, no seepage and hygienic. Vinyl flooring is often used not only in residential projects but also in public facilities such as fitness centres, swimming pools, and hospitals. However, since not only the type of floor plays a role but a shower should also be visually appealing, we recommend choosing a linear drain instead of a classic point drain. A vinyl floor linear drainage system, also known as a shower channel, offers a sleek modern design along with efficient water flow. 

The "Wiper VF" shower channel series has been specially designed for vinyl floors and is available with three stylish design covers:

Installation Process

Our linear drains are easy to install, save you time and effort on your wetroom project:

  1. Prepare the Wet Room Floor: Clean, level and ready for installation.
  2. Position the Drain: Put the drain where you want it in the wetroom.
  3. Secure and Connect: Fix the drain and connect the wastes for flow.
  4. Lay the Vinyl Flooring: Lay your vinyl flooring over the drain, make sure it’s a tight fit with the water seal.
  5. Seal the Edges: Finish by sealing the edges for a watertight wet room.

Yes, vinyl flooring is great for a wet room. It’s water proof, durable and seamless.

Where should the drain be in a wet room?

What’s the difference between a floor drain and a floor gully?

A floor drain is just an outlet for drainage in the wetroom, a floor gully has a trap or water seal to stop odours from coming back into the bathroom. Our linear drains have a water seal for maximum performance.

Can water seep through the vinyl floor?

When installed correctly vinyl flooring is watertight, no seepage. Our drains are designed to work with vinyl floors, so your wetroom is secure.

How do you slope a shower floor for a linear drain?

The wet room floor should be sloped towards the linear drain for flow. This can be done during the installation by adjusting the floor substrate.

What happens to vinyl flooring when wet?

What material is a shower channel made from?

All shower channels, including the "Wiper VF" linear drain for vinyl flooring, are made from high quality stainless steel AISI 304. This material is rust free, durable and easy to clean. For special applications drains can also be made from stainless steel AISI 316. Stainless steel not only looks elegant and modern but also resistant to corrosion and oxidation, against chemical and weather influences. Also great results in various surface finishes, high-gloss polished, brushed and matt.
