Wet Room Trays for Microcement
Wet Room Shower Trays for Microcement
Our collection of wet room shower trays is specifically designed for microcement floor finishes. Compatible with similar finishes, such as resin flooring or polished concrete.
These products are focused on providing a sturdy and solid support for microcement and similar materials, such as resin or polished concrete. To ensure affordability and lightness, multiple layers of reinforcement are used while still guaranteeing a suitable base for the floor finish application. Each tray is sloped to facilitate easier installation, ensuring that water naturally flows towards the drainage.
The tray includes our latest drain design, the Wiper MCR, which is also optimized for microcement finishes. It features a stainless steel flange and membrane for perfect adherence to the existing floor. Moreover, it is equipped with a vertical frame offering 3 to 12 mm of adjustment, accommodating a range of finishes. The drain offers a wide selection of customization options: four colours (with enhanced, PVD lifetime colour coverage), choice of drain surface finish (polished, brushed, or matte), and seven drain cover styles. This allows for a seamless integration of the drain with the other shower components.
This page features our complete kits including a tray for microcement finish, if you are looking for only a separate drain, please check our linear drains for microcement.
The Rise of Microcement in Wet Rooms
Microcement has gained immense popularity for its sleek finish and ability to emulate concrete and tiles without the bulk. It's not just about the look; microcement is suitable for both floors and walls, presenting a unified design. Its properties ensure that it's hygienic, easy to maintain, and durable against daily wear and tear.
Benefits of Choosing Microcement Shower Trays
Selecting a shower tray suitable for microcement goes beyond aesthetics. These trays, designed explicitly for microcement surfaces, ensure that water drains efficiently, preventing any water logging. Additionally, the smooth surface of microcement allows for easy cleaning, ensuring that your wet room remains hygienic and fresh.
Installation and Maintenance
Installing wet room trays for microcement requires attention to detail. The surface preparation is crucial, and often, a primer is applied before the microcement to ensure a strong bond. Once set, the microcement provides a durable surface that's resistant to water, making it ideal for walk-in showers. Regular maintenance involves simple cleaning with appropriate products to retain its sheen.
Customization and Versatility
Microcement's versatility extends to its ability to be customized. Whether you're looking for a particular shade to match your interiors or a specific texture, microcement offers a plethora of options. Its adaptability ensures that every wet room stands out, reflecting the homeowner's unique style.
Q&A
Can you use microcement for the shower floor?
Absolutely! Microcement is completely waterproof when sealed properly, making it an excellent choice for shower floors. Its seamless finish ensures that there are no gaps or joints, preventing water leakage.
How do you prepare a bathroom for microcement?
Preparing a bathroom for microcement involves cleaning the surface to remove any debris or old finishes. A primer is then applied to ensure a strong bond between the surface and the microcement. Once the primer is set, the microcement can be applied in layers, with each layer being allowed to dry before the next is added.
Is microcement really waterproof?
Yes, microcement is inherently waterproof. However, it's essential to apply a sealer after the microcement has set to ensure complete water resistance and to protect the finish.
