Bespoke Wet Room Trays
Wet room Kit Showerlay Wiper 800 x 800 mm Line Pure is a walk in shower tray with end linear drain. Former is available in three thicknesses, has 2% fall towards the drain, provides great acoustic insulation and is also lightweight while very strong.
Former comes with integrated and waterproofed stainless steel linear channel, suitable McAlpine siphon trap with 26 l/min capacity and grate. Pure is a slot cover, should be filled with tiles so after the installation only visible part of the tray would be the channel. Drainage is 500 mm long and 80 mm wide while grating width is 64 mm. It protrudes above the shower tray by 15 mm and below by approximately 5 mm. Steel is finished with a brush, which is practical and particularly suitable for most architectural applications.
Preformed 800 x 800 mm board is the smallest square shaped tray we offer. It allows you to create an elegant shower, even in a small bathroom. It will not only look beautiful but will offer easy, step-free access.
Based on current settings, if you Add to cart current set and then order, you will receive the following items:

Thickness: 20 mm

Size: not included
- Dimensions as described on equivalent technical drawings,
- If needed, the tray can be easily shortened in its length or width, using a handsaw,
- Make sure you cut it for equal distances from both sides to preserve pre-made fall to the drain,
- Drain channel is located centrally, across the shorter edge.
- Designed especially for range of Wiper Premium drains,
- Drain is built into the tray during the manufacturing process,
- Our showerlay is a 20/28/35 mm XPS foam sheet covered on both sides with a flexible cementous glue and reinforced with a fibre glass mesh,
- The showerlay is CNC machine cut to give a perfect pre-formed fall from each corner to the drain,
- It is lightweight but very strong,
- Perfect solution for British wooden floors but can also be used on concrete floors. When it is used on wooden floors, the floor must be underboarded after floor boards have been removed,
- Standard and minimal underboarding should be 20 mm thick,
- Ideal for tiled floors. Because of the high compressive strength of the XPS foam, it can even be used with small mosaic tiles. This is not suitable for vinyl floor coverings,
- The Showerlay can be easily cut on site should you have any obstacles such as pipe boxings,
- Easy to use with under floor heating systems (should be installed on top of the shower tray)
- One hundred per cent, double waterproofing,
- Hardness of the surface layer allows to cement even very small mosaics,
- High acoustic and thermal insulation,
- After installation, the plates should be supported over the entire surface.

The tanking kit is a ready-mixed, under-tile tanking system to protect water sensitive substrates from exposure to water. Suitable for wet areas such as bathrooms, showers in residential buildings, hotels, old people's homes and hospitals. Should not be used in places exposed to pressurised water, for an instance swimming pools. Ready to use, no mixing required and easy to apply with a roller. The kit includes a high performance joint reinforcing tape to protect against movement in floor joins and corners etc. The contents are all INSIDE the bucket and the contents are protected in the bucket with polystyrene infill's to stop transit damage. The instructions are printed on the rear of the tanking kit.
For anti-moisture insulation systems in wet rooms and rooms intended for human residence. The tanking liquid is a ready-to-use singlecomponent, solvent-free sealant composed of polymer dispersion, fillers and modifying additives. When applied to the surface, upon binding it creates a flexible and water-insulating layer.

Tanking kit contains:
Features:
- 4kg Tanking Liquid
- 1l Primer
- 10 Metres flexible Sealing Tape
- 2 Flexible Pipe Collars
- 2 Corners
Features:
- Consumption to 1,2kg/m²
- Solvent free
- Drying time: 2h

Tanking liquid
The tanking liquid is a ready to use, single component, solvent-free sealant mass, consisting of polymer dispersion, fillers and additives. When applied to a substrate and cured, it forms a flexible waterproofing coating. The product is intended for use inside places intended for human residence, especially in humid areas (such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundries), to perform insulation against moisture under linings and coverings, such as ceramic tiles, glazed tiles, terracotta, wooden floors and panels, and synthetic carpets.

The product is intended for priming absorbent and porous surfaces, inside and outside buildings. It is especially recommended for cement - limestone plaster, gas concrete, plaster-carton boards and cement plaster. The primer has a high penetration ability, is deeply absorbed into the substrate, thus strengthening it, while allowing for „breathing”. These benefits improve the structure of the substrates, which, due to the passage of time, have lost their appropriate parameters. The priming solution improves adhesion to the surface of other materials that will be used on the primed substrate. By reducing the absorbency of the substrate, the wear of the applied coating materials, emulsion paints, glues, mineral putties reduces as well. The solution, due to the content of the biocide and fungicide, protects the primed substrate against the formation of mold and bacteria in the product.

Complete Underfloor Heating Kit
It is possible to include a complete Underfloor Heating Kit to your order. All you need to do is to choose the required size. Additional package, with heating mat, appropriate thermostat, sensor and instructions will be dispatched together with the other goods.
To calculate required mat size you need to get square coverage of the floor and exclude any permanent / fixed fixtures from them. It is also recommended to buy slightly smaller mat than calculated size - you can shape it but cannot cut the cables, therefore too large mat could not be installed.
SUNFLOOR Underfloor Heating
The SUNFLOOR Electric Heating Mat is a unique type of floor heating mat. The system has been designed to be used on an existing tiled floor or an existing finished floor, so that floor heating can still be installed there. The mat is approximately 4 mm thick and can be included in a layer of adhesive without any demolishing or grinding. The mat fits virtually underneath the surface. This decreases the heating time of the floor, that also makes this system suitable for rooms that are not permanently occupied including bathrooms, studies, playrooms, etc.
Heating mat
Underfloor heating mat set consists of all necessary parts for installation. One Thermostat is needed for every 23 m² of heating mat. It is included as optional, to allow ordering mat for custom areas, for example if you need 13 m² of mat total, you should buy 10 m² with one of the thermostats set as include and 3 m² with thermostat not included. In case you require less mat coverage than possible to buy from our product pictures, for example 14.5 m² you should always round low with your purchase and buy 14 m² as the mat is impossible to cut. It can be shaped but not shortened to size.

Wet room Kit shower tray installation instructions | Timber floor
Wet room Kit shower tray installation instructions | Concrete floor
Our wet room kits are available in three thicknesses: 20, 28 and 35 mm. Depending on space, floor type, and desired gradient you can choose best option for you.
If you have timber floor - existing floor board thickness. Usually they are 20 or 28 mm thick, in that case you should go for adequate thick wet room kit, to avoid floor height increase and step ups. If you want to achieve stepped up floor, 35 mm thickness might also be a good choice. If case of concrete floor, every thickness is suitable, if you're going to screed the floor you need to shutter the future shower area off and leave proper space for tray to be inserted in the future. If screed has already been done, you will need to use jackhammer or similar tool to groove exact tray thickness and shape when the shower is going to be created. In case of both floor types, every shower tray thickness is enough to bear human weight, as it needs to be underboarded beneath entire surface either with ply or solid concrete. The biggest difference between thicknesses is the slope's angle achieved after installation is completed and shower tray tiled.

Integrated drain
Shower trays incorporate linear drain built-into the tray during the manufacturing process. Wiper Premium range linear shower drains are made from one piece of 304 grade stainless steel. Only the ends are welded. This means that the flange and drain body are made from the same piece of steel ensuring complete security from water penetration. Our flange is on all four sides of the drain. You will not find a better linear drain on the market.

Dear Jim,
I would like to confirm that suitable McAlpine siphon trap with pipe is included to this wet room kit. It is completely rotatable and it's pipe height can be adjusted so it gives flexibility to avoid the joists. It features flow rate of 26 l/min and water seal of 20 mm which prevents the air from getting back into the shower.
For the price visible on the product page you receive:
- XPS foam base with pre-machined fall from every corner of the tray to every corner of the drain, reinforced with fibre glass mesh and cement based glue,
- integrated and waterproofed stainless steel channel,
- grating pattern (6 available) - no impact on price nor on performance,
- McAlpine siphon trap with pipe,
Optionally you can include the waterproofing kit to your order, which is very useful especially for timber floor but also recommended for concrete floor.

Dear Customer,
I can confirm that the grating can be lifted up after installation is over, to access the siphon trap from above for cleaning. It can be simply opened and standard bathroom cleaning detergents can be used.
Linear drain channel is already integrated and waterproofed so it cannot be moved, however grating is removable part.
If you have any questions I am here to help.

Dear Customer,
I can confirm that this product is suitable for both concrete and timber flooring. There's only requirement that it needs to be underboarded beneath entire surface. You can see fitting instructions here:

Dear Customer,
We include suitable McAlpine siphon trap with pipe to every drain we sell. It features 26 l/min capacity, which is slightly more than standard, 20 mm water seal and pipe diameter of 1.5''. It is completely rotatable and adjustable, which gives flexibility with fitting. Product has everything needed to be installed, so yes, it is ready to be connected to your waste system straight after unpacking.

I purchased your pure linear drain shower tray last year and I am only getting round to installing it now. I will have to bring the level up with backer board to get the tile up to the drain. What is best practice for applying the backer boards over ...
Dear Customer,
Tile backer boards need to have proper thickness. Distance from the shower tray surface to the top edge of the vertical frame of integrated drain is fixed, 15 mm, so is the maximum thickness for all your material that is going to be fitted on top of it. If your tiles are for example 8 mm, then 6 mm tile backer board should be used and 1 mm layer of tile adhesive.
Boards need to be cut diagonally, to match the angle of the premachined slopes on top of the shower tray. Backer boards can be stuck to the shower tray with tile adhesive, as the tray is covered with material that connects to tile adhesive well on both sides.
Hope that helps, if you have any questions I will be happy to assist.
David 020 7193 0953
Dear Customer,
I can confirm that we can create custom shower tray made to size, it would cost more and we would need more time to deliver (6 business days) but yes, we can basically create any shower tray which is smaller than 2000 mm x 1200 mm. It will probably cost more approximately £50 more than standard shower tray of similar specification.
Please send us dimensions, thickness, drain position, it's style and if you require any waterproofing kit to our email: shop@wetroomsdesign.co.uk. I will prepare proper technical diagram, quote and will reply with all the necessary details.
I am happy to help in case of any questions.

Hi mum is now disabled I have to install a wet room ...her bathroom now is a 1700 £ —900 bath shower a toilet and basin total room size 5m2 on a concrete floor could you please advise me on what I will need for this job Thanks Graham Dewey ...
Dear Graham,
I am sorry to hear about your mom, we've got an article that you might find interesting: 3 More Benefits of a Walk In Shower When You Have Mobility Issues.
Regarding your query, 900 x 1700 is one of our standard wet room kit size. They are available in versions with Linear or Square drain. Basically after buying them you will receive everything you need: 900 x 1700 premachined board (falls from every corner of the tray to every corner of the drain) integrated stainless steel channel, grating pattern (6 available) and suitable McAlpine waste siphon trap.
In addition, you can choose to include the waterproofing kit. Each kit increases the price by £59, so if you went for 6m2˛, it would cost additional £118 total. With the waterproofing kit, you have everything you need to fit the wet room kit and seal it, after doing this it's ready for tiling.
If you have any questions I will be happy to help.
Adam 017 0927 3601
Dear Customer,
Only Showerlay Wiper Invisible are suitable for vinyl floor covering. Other shower trays have vertical frame of 15 mm, so you would need to accomodate that space (best with tile backer boards) to bring it to the frame level, so vinyl sheet is flushed with the drain. If you are able to do this, then you can use any Showerlay, if not, only Showerlays with Invisible drain will be suitable for you.
Peter 020 7193 5485
Dear Simon,
The Showerlay comes with already integrated and waterproofed 500 mm long stainless steel channel drain. Shower tray itself doesn't require additional waterproofing, however we always recommend to do this, especially for timber flooring. Floor/wall joints as well as the splash area should be protected against water and that's where the tanking kit comes really handy.
Waterproofing kit which can be included to this product, is very efficient, one kit covers 3.2 square metres, contains 4kg tanking liquid, 1l primer, 10m sealing tape, 2 corners and 2 pipe collars. It can be purchased for £59 each, while normal price is £99.
If you have any questions I will be happy to help.
Adam 017 0927 3601
What shower tray thickness should I choose for my timber floor wet room? Do I also need tile backer boards to level up rest of the floor? Can I buy them in your store?
Thanks
Dear Ryan,
There are 3 thicknesses available: 20, 28 and 35 mm and they state how thick shower tray is on the edges. They are much shallower near the drain, which is a result of having premachined diagonal slopes towards the drain.
Floor boards are usually 20 mm thick and to install the shower tray you need to remove them to expose the joists, create battons, fix them to the joists and then mount at least 18 mm thick marine ply between the joists. This will create solid even support for wet room kit, which requires to be underboarded beneath entire surface.
By doing this, you will actually replace the floor board with tile backer board and this will allow to avoid total floor height increase.
Alternatively you can lay the shower tray straight on top of the floor boards but you will need to use tile backer boards to bring up rest of the floor height to the shower tray level.
You can find range of tile backer boards here.
Peter 020 7193 5485
Dear Customer,
Our wet room kits are based on XPS material, which is flexible and can be safely trimmed. This can be done with a regular handsaw, is very easy and does not do any damage to the shower tray.
There's one recommendation from us,
