Concrete interiors are a style that combines modern design with functionality. Concrete is a very good finishing material for the bathroom. It looks great visually. It is a material that perfectly combines with other raw materials, such as wood, metal, copper, steel and ceramics. It is an ideal background for vegetation, so if you like a lot of natural greenery in the bathroom, microcement is a solution that will make every entrance to the bathroom look at the vegetation.
Why is it worth using concrete for interior finishing?
When building new houses, apartments or flats, more and more emphasis is placed on a sense of space in the interior. Less and less walls are being erected separating the rooms, the interiors are more open. It helps to feel more freedom and peace. It allows you to get rid of the feeling of cramp and claustrophobia. Living in such an interior reveals greater freedom and comfort. Using concrete on the walls or floor, we introduce a sense of spaciousness to the interior. Concrete creates the effect of free space, gives the interior a harsh atmosphere.
What are the advantages of using microcement to finish the bathroom?
Microcement is a mixture of specialised cements, aggregates and polymers. Using it in our house, it can be used to finish walls, floors and even worktops. It is a natural material, extremely durable and resistant to both moisture and high temperatures. It is worth using it for the bathroom, because it is a raw material that does not absorb water.
Thanks to waterproof properties, we can finish walls and shower floor without hesitation. For easier cleaning, it is recommended to cover it additionally with polyurethane varnish. Such varnishes are available in various finishes (polished, satin or mat), so we can adapt it to your own preferences. Microcement also requires additional impregnation to strengthen its water resistance.
Another advantage is the lack of the need for joints and silicones, as in the case of ceramics.
The bathroom finished with microcement is easy to maintain. The surface is smooth and elegant, without unevenness, so there is nowhere to collect dirt. The styling of a concrete bathroom can be adapted to any style. From minimalist bathrooms, to industrial spaces with simple furnishings, to luxurious designs with a hint of factory rawness. Gray cement is often broken with fittings or additions in gold.
Hanging lamps reign in concrete interiors. The combinations of white furniture or fittings with wooden finishes also harmonise nicely. Wood warms gray spaces. Textiles, plants and glass chandeliers will also work. It all depends on the style in which we feel best.
