Shower Trays - FAQs
What are the most popular shower tray sizes?
Our most popular sizes are 800 x 1200 mm and 900 x 1200 mm, great for balance of comfort and space. Slightly larger sizes 800 x 1500 mm and 900 x 1500 mm are also very popular for extra roominess.
What are the benefits of a larger shower tray?
Larger shower trays 900 x 1500 mm or up to 1000 x 1500 mm offer more comfort and freedom of movement. They allow space for storing toiletries and make it easier to keep water in the tray area. However larger trays take up more floor space so may limit other fixtures in smaller bathrooms.
Why choose a smaller shower tray?
Smaller trays 800 x 800 mm square or 800 x 1200 mm rectangle save space, perfect for smaller bathrooms or guest bathrooms. They have enough room for functionality without overwhelming the space but may feel less spacious especially for those who like to have room to move around.
What shower tray sizes do you offer?
We have a range of shapes and sizes to suit different requirements. Our smallest square tray is 800 x 800 mm and our largest square tray is 1200 x 1200 mm. For rectangular trays our sizes are 800 x 1200 mm up to 900 x 1850 mm or 1000 x 1500 mm. We can also create bespoke, made to measure trays for wet rooms so you can have ultimate flexibility to fit your unique layout or size requirements.
How do I choose the right shower tray size for my bathroom?
Think about the space and who will be using the bathroom. Larger trays offer more comfort and help keep water in the wet room area, great for family bathrooms or main bathrooms. Smaller trays save space and are perfect for guest or second bathrooms. A 1200 mm wide tray is a happy medium that fits most layouts and offers a good balance of functionality and comfort.
Do you offer bespoke shower trays?
Yes we offer made to measure shower trays for wet rooms so you can create a shower area to your exact requirements. This flexibility is perfect for layouts with unique dimensions or design requirements so your tray fits the space without compromising on style or functionality. Read more.
What should I consider for wheelchair accessibility?
For wheelchair accessibility choose a larger shower tray, at least 1200 mm wide, for ease of movement and comfortable entry. Make sure the tray is wide enough to allow wheelchair movement without taking up too much space, a tray that’s too big could limit mobility in the bathroom. A tray level with the floor will ensure a safe and seamless entry.
Are there shower trays for limited mobility?
Yes, accessibility trays have anti slip surfaces and low or flush to floor profiles so are safer and more convenient for those with limited mobility. Larger rectangular trays like our 900 x 1500 mm size have enough room for movement while keeping safety and functionality. Our bespoke options allow for customised tray sizes to fit your mobility requirements.
How do I balance comfort and accessibility?
Balance comfort with accessibility by choosing a tray that has enough room for movement without taking up too much space. Our 1200 mm and 1500 mm wide trays are popular for this reason, they have room to move and a small footprint. Users with limited mobility may also benefit from additional support features like grab bars which can be fitted alongside the tray.
