Our tiler has raised concerns about using our small mosaic tiles on top of the wet room former as the tile is about 5mm shorter then the height of the stainless steel drainer. Would he simply build this up with his adhesive? He also raised concerns about tiling straight onto the stainless steel drain cover. Will a certain type of adhesive need to be used to tile onto the stainless steel? Thanks
Dear Nicola,
You need to make your mosaic flushed with the integrated drain's frame. It can go sligthly above, but should never be below the frame level.
It can be achieved either by using tile backer boards, which would need to be cut according to the shower tray slopes or with multiple layer of tile adhesive. 5 mm is distance difference could be made up by 2 layers of 2.5 mm tile adhesive.
I will be happy to assist if you have any other questions.
Kind regards
